The Global DAT Task Force
As a broad group of global partners and stakeholders from multiple organizations, we share the common goal of seeing a world where Tuberculosis is no longer prevalent.
Our approach is to contribute to the further evaluation of DATs as a tool to support TB treatment, optimal introduction and scale-up of DATs in the context of people-centered treatment and care modalities, and the further innovation of DATs and supporting and enabling tools, processes, and systems.
While continuing the evaluation and research of DATs in practice, we offer technical support for optimal introduction and scale-up of DATs for national TB programmes.
Technical Assistance
Planning for DAT implementation
The Global DAT Task Force is fully funded to provide technical assistance to countries in their DAT planning, roll-out and scale up, including:
- Budget development
- Proposal development for the inclusion of DATs in Global Fund applications
- Identifying additional local and global funding streams
- Adherence platform comparison and selection
- DAT implementation assessment
- DAT procurement support

The Global Task Force Objectives
The activities of the Global Task Force are informed by the following objectives:
Objective 1
Advise WHOs Global TB Programme (GTB), the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (“Global Fund”), the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility (GDF) or similar organizations on the use of DATs, in line with the targets set forth in the Global Plan to End TB and the End TB Strategy.
Objective 2
Support the generation and dissemination of additional evidence regarding DATs to further inform and guide country programs and implementing partners with respect to the use of DATs in care and support.
Objective 3
Advise and support country programs and other technical, implementing, funding partners with respect to the optimal implementation and scale-up of DATs and related critical issues.
Objective 4
Contribute to the further innovation of DATs and related enabling tools, processes, and systems, including expanding the market access of DATs.
