Kickoff:
Global DAT Task Force,
Learning Hub
A virtual platform for knowledge-sharing
On January 31, 2024, the Learning Hub hosted by the Global DAT Task Force kicked off with an inaugural live webinar on Adherence Platforms to support digital adherence interventions. This newly developed Learning Hub serves as an innovative platform with the aim of fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and driving transformative learning in the world of Digital Adherence Technologies (DATs). As we celebrate this launch, we envision a vibrant community actively contributing to and benefiting from the wealth of knowledge housed within the hub.
The focus of our inaugural webinar was on Digital Adherence platforms, a key element in the chain of digital adherence technologies interventions. These technologies play a significant role in supporting person-centered approaches, TB treatment ownership and data-driven national strategies. The success of our first webinar wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of experts committed to advancing the field of TB treatment adherence. Our speakers, Inez de Kruijf-Carter (KNCV TB Plus, Netherlands), Millicent Kamau (Center for Health Solutions – Kenya/USAID TB ARC II, Kenya) and Baraka Onjare (KNCV TB Plus, Tanzania), dived into adherence platform solutions, best practices, challenges and their impact within the National TB Program strategic approach.
Experience sharing
After implementation research with an external hosting platform, adherence platforms’ experience in Tanzania reflected on the integration of an adherence module hosted within DHIS2 as a sustainable solution for their NTP and potential availability for other countries by the 2nd quarter of 2024. In Mombasa and Nairobi counties in Kenya, the adherence platform has been integrated within the country’s data system, adapting and introducing T-bu lite app to support TB treatment adherence as a means to achieve enhanced adherence rates and improved health outcomes.
Currently, the Learning Hub offers:
