Digital Adherence Technology Presentations at The Union Conference

At The Union Conference, which will be hosted virtually this year from 8-11 November 2022, there will be multiple presentations on the use of digital adherence technologies as a support tool in TB treatment.

There will be oral abstracts on topics such as: Costs incurred by individuals using digital adherence technologies; Facilitating and inhibiting factors for the introduction of digital adherence tools for TB care; Patient acceptability of using medication monitors and experience of a differentiated care approach; and digital adherence monitoring of tuberculosis treatment in Ukraine before and during the war.

The topic “Digital health technologies for providing person-centered tuberculosis care: country experiences and suggested strategies for scale-up” will be discussed during a symposium, and there will be a satellite session on the topic: “Taking stock of digital adherence technologies: evidence synthesis and the path forward”.

There will also be numerous e-Poster presentations on topics including: Closing the TB Adherence Gap in Nigeria with Digital Adherence Technologies; Sustained Costs of 99DOTS Following Implementation in Uganda; Patients’ experiences with video-observed TB treatment in Kampala, Uganda; Feasibility and acceptability of smart pill box with differentiated response to support person-centred tuberculosis care; and many more.
